Tokyo Jazz : Visual Design + Branding
JKD Collective has undertaken branding and visual design for Japan’s largest jazz festival, Tokyo Jazz, teaming up with Oryel, a design studio run by Art Director Koichi Inoue. The key visual is a collage of typographies such as kanji, katakana and the alphabet mixed in with a variety of jazz-related motifs and gives a sense of the sophistication of present day Tokyo. Given the large scale of the festival, the visuals have been circulated heavily in newspapers and magazines, on the web and outdoor billboards. The festival takes place on September 6th, 7th and 8th at the Tokyo International Forum and at the Cotton Club.
